Watermarking
in paper can be traced back to 13th century Italy. Watermarks
are made DURING the paper manufacturing process. A watermarked
image is formed when a dandy roll containing that image
is run on the paper web while the paper is still wet.
A watermark is visible from the front and back of the
paper when viewed in regular light. The image of a watermark
cannot be copied or scanned to produce the same effect.
Although a Watermark offers unique and invaluable advantages,
the traditional (and conventional) Process of Watermarking
has several Disadvantages. |
